I have always loved the deep colors that come from oil painting. They always look so rich and have such a strong look and depth to them. When painting in acrylics I want to create that same kind of feeling of depth and richness. In most of my paintings, I try to have some amount of depth mostly from layering colors, so the eye can keep discovering new things within the work. With this next piece I'm really focusing on creating as much depth as I possibly can. This time I'll be using deep base colors and tinting as well as layering. In the picture below, you see the first base layer. I'll add another base layer to eliminate all the white of the canvas and then start in on the long dripping technique used in String Theory#1. You and I will find out together how well I'll be able to create the depth I'm looking for. Should be interesting. I'm eager to continue.
